    Perceptions (1st)

    “បញ្ចិមា, ភិក្ខវេ, សញ្ញា ភាវិតា ពហុលីកតា មហប្ផលា ហោន្តិ មហានិសំសា អមតោគធា អមតបរិយោសានា។ កតមា បញ្ច? អសុភសញ្ញា, មរណសញ្ញា, អាទីនវសញ្ញា, អាហារេ បដិកូលសញ្ញា, សព្ពលោកេ អនភិរតសញ្ញា—ឥមា ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, បញ្ច សញ្ញា ភាវិតា ពហុលីកតា មហប្ផលា ហោន្តិ មហានិសំសា អមតោគធា អមតបរិយោសានា”តិ។

    “Bhikkhus, these five perceptions, when developed and cultivated, are very fruitful and beneficial. They culminate in the deathless and end with the deathless. What five? The perceptions of ugliness, death, drawbacks, repulsiveness of food, and dissatisfaction with the whole world. These five perceptions, when developed and cultivated, are very fruitful and beneficial. They culminate in the deathless and end with the deathless.”
