PLAU wt Allele
Human PLAU wild-type allele is located within 10q24 and is approximately 6 kb in length. This allele, which encodes urokinase-type plasminogen activator protein, plays a role in the degradation of the extracellular matrix via activation of plasminogen. Overexpression of the PLAU gene is associated with cancer progression. (NCI Thesaurus)
