    PROS1 wt Allele

Human PROS1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3q11.1 and is approximately 101 kb in length. This allele, which encodes vitamin K-dependent protein S, is involved in the regulation of coagulation. Mutations in this gene are associated with both autosomal dominant and autosomal recessive thrombophilia due to protein S deficiency. (NCI Thesaurus)
