Providencia rustigianii
Definition 1
A species of aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is motile, produces acid from galactose but not from adonitol, inositol, and trehalose and is resistant to penicillin and colistin. P. rustigianii is an opportunistic pathogen found in multiple animal reservoirs, soil, water, and sewage and can cause gastrointestinal infections. (NCI Thesaurus)
