Quadrupole
A set of two pairs of oppositely charged rods that are used in a mass spectrometer to filter out ions by focusing them in the center of the set of poles so that the radio frequency wave passed along the rods can propagate the ions from one end of the rods to the other. (NCI Thesaurus)
