    RAL Guanine Nucleotide Dissociation Stimulator

Encoded by human RALGDS Gene, 914-aa 101-kDa RAL Guanine Nucleotide Dissociation Stimulator is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor containing an N-terminal RAS-GEF domain and a noncatalytic C-terminal RAS-associating domain. RALGDS interaction as an effector molecule with RAS-like molecules is specific and dependent on RAS activation by GTP. RALGDS stimulates dissociation of GDP from RAS-related RALA and RALB GTPases, allowing GTP binding and GTPase activation. (NCI Thesaurus)
