    Recombinant human interleukin-2

    Pronunciation

    A drug used to treat some types of cancer. It is a form of interleukin-2, a cytokine made by leukocytes (white blood cells), that is made in the laboratory. Recombinant human interleukin-2 increases the activity and growth of white blood cells called T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes. It is a type of biological response modifier. Also called aldesleukin and Proleukin. (NCI Dictionary)
