Sacchikātabbasutta
Should Be Realized
“सच्छिकातब्बञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, धम्मं देसेस्सामि न सच्छिकातब्बञ्च। तं सुणाथ …पे… कतमो च, भिक्खवे, न सच्छिकातब्बो धम्मो? पाणातिपातो …पे… मिच्छादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, न सच्छिकातब्बो धम्मो।
“Sacchikātabbañca vo, bhikkhave, dhammaṁ desessāmi na sacchikātabbañca. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamo ca, bhikkhave, na sacchikātabbo dhammo? Pāṇātipāto …pe… micchādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, na sacchikātabbo dhammo.
“I will teach you the principle to realize and the principle not to realize. … And what is the principle not to realize? Killing living creatures … wrong view. This is called the principle not to realize.
कतमो च, भिक्खवे, सच्छिकातब्बो धम्मो? पाणातिपाता वेरमणी …पे… सम्मादिट्ठि—अयं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, सच्छिकातब्बो धम्मो”ति।
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sacchikātabbo dhammo? Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī …pe… sammādiṭṭhi—ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sacchikātabbo dhammo”ti.
And what is the principle to realize? Not killing living creatures … right view. This is called the principle to realize.”
