Blameworthy
“चत्तारोमे, भिक्खवे, पुग्गला सन्तो संविज्जमाना लोकस्मिं। कतमे चत्तारो? सावज्जो, वज्जबहुलो, अप्पवज्जो, अनवज्जो।
“Cattārome, bhikkhave, puggalā santo saṁvijjamānā lokasmiṁ. Katame cattāro? Sāvajjo, vajjabahulo, appavajjo, anavajjo.
“Bhikkhus, these four people are found in the world. What four? The blameworthy, the mostly blameworthy, the slightly blameworthy, and the blameless.
कथञ्च, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो सावज्जो होति? इध, भिक्खवे, एकच्चो पुग्गलो सावज्जेन कायकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, सावज्जेन वचीकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, सावज्जेन मनोकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति। एवं खो, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो सावज्जो होति।
Kathañca, bhikkhave, puggalo sāvajjo hoti? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo sāvajjena kāyakammena samannāgato hoti, sāvajjena vacīkammena samannāgato hoti, sāvajjena manokammena samannāgato hoti. Evaṁ kho, bhikkhave, puggalo sāvajjo hoti.
And how is a person blameworthy? It’s when a person does things by way of body, speech, and mind that are blameworthy. That’s how a person is blameworthy.
कथञ्च, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो वज्जबहुलो होति? इध, भिक्खवे, एकच्चो पुग्गलो सावज्जेन बहुलं कायकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं अनवज्जेन; सावज्जेन बहुलं वचीकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं अनवज्जेन; सावज्जेन बहुलं मनोकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं अनवज्जेन। एवं खो, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो वज्जबहुलो होति।

And how is a person mostly blameworthy? It’s when a person does things by way of body, speech, and mind that are mostly blameworthy, but occasionally blameless. That’s how a person is mostly blameworthy.
कथञ्च, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो अप्पवज्जो होति? इध, भिक्खवे, एकच्चो पुग्गलो अनवज्जेन बहुलं कायकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं सावज्जेन; अनवज्जेन बहुलं वचीकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं सावज्जेन; अनवज्जेन बहुलं मनोकम्मेन समन्नागतो होति, अप्पं सावज्जेन। एवं खो, भिक्खवे, पुग्गलो अप्पवज्जो होति।

इमे खो, भिक्खवे, चत्तारो पुग्गला सन्तो संविज्जमाना लोकस्मिन्”ति।
Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro puggalā santo saṁvijjamānā lokasmin”ti.
These are the four people found in the world.”
