Shigella boydii
Definition 1
A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non spore forming, catalase positive, oxidase negative and has mixed indole reactivity. S. boydii is found only on the Indian subcontinent and is pathogenic, being a causative agent of shigellosis in primates. (NCI Thesaurus)
