    Small Intestinal Submucosa

    Loose, filamentous areolar connective tissue between the muscularis mucosa and the muscular coat of the small intestine. It contains blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerves. The duodenal submucosa contains mucus-secreting Brunner's glands. (NCI Thesaurus)
