    Surface Immunoglobulin

    Immunoglobulin containing a transmembrane region and expressed on the plasma membrane of a B cell. Contrast with secreted Ig which has no transmembrane region but which can still be bound to the cell surface via Fc receptors. (NCI Thesaurus)
