    SUZ12 wt Allele

Human SUZ12 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 17q11.2 and is approximately 64 kb in length. This allele, which encodes polycomb protein SUZ12, is involved in the coordination of embryonic development and the mediation of histone methylation. A chromosomal aberration involving this gene, translocation t(7;17)(p15;q21) with the JAZF1 gene, is associated with endometrial stromal tumors. (NCI Thesaurus)
