Technetium Tc-99m Glycopeptide
A technetium Tc 99m radiopharmaceutical of a glutamate-rich peptide (GP) conjugated, via carbodiimide linker, to the heparin-like polysaccharide chitosan (CH) in a 1:1 ratio, with potential tumor targeting property. Upon administration, 99m Tc-glycopeptide targets and is taken up by glutamate-specific transporters on tumor cells. Upon internalization, the Tc99m moiety can be visualized upon scanning. GP may potentially be used as a drug carrier for antineoplastic drug delivery to tumor cells. (NCI Thesaurus)
