Thymosin Beta-15
Thymosin beta-15, a member of the thymosin-beta family, is an actin-binding protein that enhances cell motility. It is expressed in advanced prostate cancer, but not in the normal prostate or in benign prostatic hyperplasia, suggesting its potential as a marker for prostate carcinoma progression. Thymosin-beta-15 levels correlate with the Gleason tumor grade. Thymosin-beta-15 and the motility suppressor KAI1 may provide alternate pathway targets for cancer therapy.
