Three Qualities
“तीहि, भिक्खवे, धम्मेहि समन्नागतो मातुगामो येभुय्येन कायस्स भेदा परं मरणा अपायं दुग्गतिं विनिपातं निरयं उपपज्जति। कतमेहि तीहि?
“Tīhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato mātugāmo yebhuyyena kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ nirayaṁ upapajjati. Katamehi tīhi?
“Bhikkhus, when females have three qualities, when their body breaks up, after death, they are mostly reborn in a place of loss, a bad place, the underworld, hell. What three?
इध, भिक्खवे, मातुगामो पुब्बण्हसमयं मच्छेरमलपरियुट्ठितेन चेतसा अगारं अज्झावसति। मज्झन्हिकसमयं इस्सापरियुट्ठितेन चेतसा अगारं अज्झावसति। सायन्हसमयं कामरागपरियुट्ठितेन चेतसा अगारं अज्झावसति।
Idha, bhikkhave, mātugāmo pubbaṇhasamayaṁ maccheramalapariyuṭṭhitena cetasā agāraṁ ajjhāvasati. Majjhanhikasamayaṁ issāpariyuṭṭhitena cetasā agāraṁ ajjhāvasati. Sāyanhasamayaṁ kāmarāgapariyuṭṭhitena cetasā agāraṁ ajjhāvasati.
A female lives at home with a heart full of the stain of stinginess in the morning, jealousy in the afternoon, and sexual desire in the evening.
इमेहि खो, भिक्खवे, तीहि धम्मेहि समन्नागतो मातुगामो येभुय्येन कायस्स भेदा परं मरणा अपायं दुग्गतिं विनिपातं निरयं उपपज्जती”ति।
Imehi kho, bhikkhave, tīhi dhammehi samannāgato mātugāmo yebhuyyena kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ nirayaṁ upapajjatī”ti.
