TRIM27 wt Allele
Human TRIM27 wild-type allele is located within 6p22 and is approximately 17 kb in length. This allele, which encodes zinc finger protein RFP, is involved in the repression of gene transcription and may play a role in the differentiation of male germ cells. Rearrangements of the TRIM27 gene in concert with the RET gene result in a gene encoding the ret transforming protein. (NCI Thesaurus)
