Tumor Necrosis Factor (GEN)
A recombinant form of endogenous Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha manufactured by Genzyme Pharmaceuticals. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha binds to and activates receptors on the cell surface, resulting in modulation of adipocyte metabolism, lysis of tumor cells, and induction of hemorrhagic necrosis of certain transplantable tumors.
