    Tyrphostin A9

    A member of the tyrphostin family of tyrosine kinase inhibitors that exhibits anti-proliferative activity by selectively inhibiting the platelet-derived growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase. It inhibits phosphorylation, uncouples oxidative phosphorylation and induces apoptosis and cell growth arrest in certain cancer cell lines. (NCI Thesaurus)
