    Urokinase Receptor

High affinity cellular receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA). Plays a role in plasminogen activation by facilitating the conversion of uPA to an enzymatically active form anchored to the cell membrane, where plasminogen activation occurs. Affects tissue remodeling (surface proteolysis, cell adhesion, cell migration), and cancer invasion. (NCI Thesaurus)
