    Veillonella parvula

    Definition 1

    A species of anaerobic, Gram negative, cocci shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This species is catalase negative and does not require putrescine or cadaverine for growth. V. parvula is commensal, residing in the mouth, or the intestinal or respiratory tracts and is rarely pathogenic. (NCI Thesaurus)
