Virginiamycin S1
A streptomycin B-related cyclic depsipeptide isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces virginiae and other Streptomyces bacterial species. Virginiamycin S1 binds to and inhibits the formation of 50S ribosomes, thereby preventing protein synthesis. (NCI Thesaurus)
