Definition 1
A standardized rating scale developed by RAND and sponsored by the National Eye Institute (NEI) to assess the dimensions of self-reported vision-targeted health status that are most important for individuals with chronic eye disease. It also measures the influence of visual disability and symptoms on emotional well-being, mental health, social and daily visual functioning. This questionnaire is in the Interviewer Administered Format and contains 25 multiple choice questions across 3 domains; general health and vision, difficulty with activates, and response to vision problems. It also includes an appendix of additional 13 questions researchers can use to expand the scales up to 38 total items. (NCI Thesaurus)
