    यागुसुत्त

    Yāgusutta

    Porridge

    “पञ्चिमे, भिक्खवे, आनिसंसा यागुया। कतमे पञ्च? खुद्दं पटिहनति, पिपासं पटिविनेति, वातं अनुलोमेति, वत्थिं सोधेति, आमावसेसं पाचेति। इमे खो, भिक्खवे, पञ्च आनिसंसा यागुया”ति।

    “Pañcime, bhikkhave, ānisaṁsā yāguyā. Katame pañca? Khuddaṁ1 paṭihanati, pipāsaṁ paṭivineti, vātaṁ anulometi, vatthiṁ sodheti, āmāvasesaṁ pāceti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca ānisaṁsā yāguyā”ti.

    “Bhikkhus, there are these five benefits of porridge. What five? It wards off hunger, quenches thirst, settles the wind, cleans the bladder, and helps digestion. These are the five benefits of porridge.”

    सत्तमं।
