    ZNF384 wt Allele

Human ZNF384 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 12p12 and is approximately 23 kb in length. This allele, which encodes zinc finger protein 384, plays a role in both the modulation of transcription and DNA binding. At least 3 translocations affecting this gene are associated with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Translocation t(12;17)(p13;q11) fuses the gene to the TAF15 gene, t(12;19)(p13;p13) generates a fusion with the TCF3 gene and t(12;22)(p13;q12) fuses this gene and the EWSR1 gene. (NCI Thesaurus)
