    අච්ඡරාසුත්ත

    Nymphs

    “අච්ඡරාගණසඞ්ඝුට්ඨං, පිසාචගණසේවිතං; වනන්තං මෝහනං නාම, කථං යාත්‍රා භවිස්සතී”ති.

    “It’s resounding with a group of nymphs, but haunted by a gang of goblins! This grove is called ‘Delusion’. How am I supposed to live like this?”

    “උජුකෝ නාම සෝ මග්ගෝ, අභයා නාම සා දිසා; රථෝ අකූජනෝ නාම, ධම්මචක්කේහි සංයුතෝ.

    “That path is called ‘the straight way’, and it’s headed for the place called ‘fearless’. The chariot is called ‘unswerving’, fitted with wheels of skillful thoughts.

    හිරී තස්ස අපාලම්බෝ, සත්‍යස්ස පරිවාරණං; ධම්මාහං සාරථිං බ්‍රූමි, සම්මාදිට්ඨිපුරේජවං.

    Conscience is its bench-back, mindfulness its upholstery. I say the teaching is the driver, with right view running out in front.

    යස්ස ඒතාදිසං යානං, ඉත්ථියා පුරිසස්ස වා; ස වේ ඒතේන යානේන, නිබ්බානස්සේව සන්තිකේ”ති.

    Any woman or man who has such a vehicle, by means of this vehicle has drawn near to Nibbana.”
