The Interior and What’s Impermanent in the Past
“चक्खु, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चं अतीतं। यदनिच्चं, तं दुक्खं। यं दुक्खं, तदनत्ता। यदनत्ता, तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं …पे… जिव्हा अनिच्चा अतीता। यदनिच्चं, तं दुक्खं। यं दुक्खं, तदनत्ता। यदनत्ता, तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं …पे… मनो अनिच्चो अतीतो। यदनिच्चं, तं दुक्खं। यं दुक्खं, तदनत्ता। यदनत्ता, तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं।
“Cakkhu, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ atītaṁ. Yadaniccaṁ, taṁ dukkhaṁ. Yaṁ dukkhaṁ, tadanattā. Yadanattā, taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ …pe… jivhā aniccā atītā. Yadaniccaṁ, taṁ dukkhaṁ. Yaṁ dukkhaṁ, tadanattā. Yadanattā, taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ …pe… mano anicco atīto. Yadaniccaṁ, taṁ dukkhaṁ. Yaṁ dukkhaṁ, tadanattā. Yadanattā, taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ.
“Bhikkhus, in the past the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind were impermanent. What’s impermanent is suffering. What’s suffering is not-self. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’ …”
एवं पस्सं …पे… नापरं इत्थत्तायाति पजानाती”ति।
Evaṁ passaṁ …pe… nāparaṁ itthattāyāti pajānātī”ti.
