Bojjhaṅgadesanāsutta
A Teaching on the Awakening Factors
“सत्त वो, भिक्खवे, बोज्झङ्गे देसेस्सामि; तं सुणाथ।
“Satta vo, bhikkhave, bojjhaṅge desessāmi; taṁ suṇātha.
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you the seven awakening factors. Listen …
कतमे च, भिक्खवे, सत्त बोज्झङ्गा? सतिसम्बोज्झङ्गो …पे… उपेक्खासम्बोज्झङ्गो—इमे खो, भिक्खवे, सत्त बोज्झङ्गा”ति।
Katame ca, bhikkhave, satta bojjhaṅgā? Satisambojjhaṅgo …pe… upekkhāsambojjhaṅgo—ime kho, bhikkhave, satta bojjhaṅgā”ti.
And what are the seven awakening factors? The awakening factors of mindfulness, investigation of principles, energy, rapture, tranquility, immersion, and equanimity. These are the seven awakening factors.”
