    Impermanence (2nd)

    सावत्थिनिदानं।

    Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

    At Sāvatthī.

    “यं, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चं; तत्र वो रागो पहातब्बो। किञ्च, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चं?

    “Yaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo. Kiñca, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ?

    “Bhikkhus, you should give up greed for what is impermanent. And what is impermanent?

    रूपं, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चं; तत्र वो रागो पहातब्बो।

    Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo.

    Form is impermanent; you should give up greed for it.

    Yaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo”ti.

    You should give up greed for what is impermanent.”
