    Questioning (2nd)

    Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

    At Sāvatthī.

“Taṁ kiṁ maññatha, bhikkhave, rūpaṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti samanupassathā”ti?

“What do you think, bhikkhus? Do you regard form like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self’?”

    “Evaṁ, bhante”.

    “Yes, sir.”

“Sādhu, bhikkhave. Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ. Vedanaṁ … saññaṁ … saṅkhāre … viññāṇaṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti samanupassathā”ti?

“Good, bhikkhus! Form should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’ Do you regard feeling … perception … choices … consciousness like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self’?”

    “Evaṁ, bhante”.

    “Yes, sir.”

“Sādhu, bhikkhave. Viññāṇaṁ, bhikkhave, ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ …

“Good, bhikkhus! Consciousness should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’

    evaṁ …pe… nāparaṁ itthattāyāti pajānātī”ti.

Seeing this … They understand: ‘… there is no return to any state of existence.’”

    Sattamaṁ.
