    Old Age

    “किंसु याव जरा साधु, किंसु साधु पतिट्ठितं; किंसु नरानं रतनं, किंसु चोरेहि दूहरन्”ति।

    “Kiṁsu yāva jarā sādhu, kiṁsu sādhu patiṭṭhitaṁ; Kiṁsu narānaṁ ratanaṁ, kiṁsu corehi dūharan”ti.

    “What’s still good in old age? What’s good when grounded? What is people’s treasure? What’s hard for thieves to take?”

    “सीलं याव जरा साधु, सद्धा साधु पतिट्ठिता; पञ्ञा नरानं रतनं, पुञ्ञं चोरेहि दूहरन्”ति।

    “Sīlaṁ yāva jarā sādhu, saddhā sādhu patiṭṭhitā; Paññā narānaṁ ratanaṁ, puññaṁ corehi dūharan”ti.

    “Ethics are still good in old age. Faith is good when grounded. Wisdom is people’s treasure. Merit’s hard for thieves to take.”
