    Kinds of Barrenness

    “තයෝමේ, භික්ඛවේ, ඛිලා. කතමේ තයෝ? රාගෝ ඛිලෝ, දෝසෝ ඛිලෝ, මෝහෝ ඛිලෝ—ඉමේ ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, තයෝ ඛිලා.

    “Bhikkhus, there are these three kinds of barrenness. What three? Greed, hate, and delusion. These are the three kinds of barrenness.

    ඉමේසං ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, තිණ්ණන්නං ඛිලානං අභිඤ්ඤාය පරිඤ්ඤාය පරික්ඛයාය පහානාය …පේ… අයං අරියෝ අට්ඨඞ්ගිකෝ මග්ගෝ භාවේතබ්බෝ”ති.

    The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these three kinds of barrenness.”
