“चतस्सो इमा, भिक्खवे, नागयोनियो। कतमा चतस्सो? अण्डजा नागा, जलाबुजा नागा, संसेदजा नागा, ओपपातिका नागा। तत्र, भिक्खवे, अण्डजेहि नागेहि जलाबुजा च संसेदजा च ओपपातिका च नागा पणीततरा। तत्र, भिक्खवे, अण्डजेहि च जलाबुजेहि च नागेहि संसेदजा च ओपपातिका च नागा पणीततरा। तत्र, भिक्खवे, अण्डजेहि च जलाबुजेहि च संसेदजेहि च नागेहि ओपपातिका नागा पणीततरा। इमा खो, भिक्खवे, चतस्सो नागयोनियो”ति।
“Catasso imā, bhikkhave, nāgayoniyo. Katamā catasso? Aṇḍajā nāgā, jalābujā nāgā, saṁsedajā nāgā, opapātikā nāgā. Tatra, bhikkhave, aṇḍajehi nāgehi jalābujā ca saṁsedajā ca opapātikā ca nāgā paṇītatarā. Tatra, bhikkhave, aṇḍajehi ca jalābujehi ca nāgehi saṁsedajā ca opapātikā ca nāgā paṇītatarā. Tatra, bhikkhave, aṇḍajehi ca jalābujehi ca saṁsedajehi ca nāgehi opapātikā nāgā paṇītatarā. Imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso nāgayoniyo”ti.
“Bhikkhus, dragons reproduce in these four ways. What four? Dragons are born from an egg, from a womb, from moisture, or spontaneously. Of these, dragons born from a womb, from moisture, or spontaneously are better than those born from an egg. Dragons born from moisture or spontaneously are better than those born from an egg or from a womb. Dragons born spontaneously are better than those born from an egg, from a womb, or from moisture. These are the four ways that dragons reproduce.”
