    The Arising of Suffering (Interior)

    “यो, भिक्खवे, चक्खुस्स उप्पादो ठिति अभिनिब्बत्ति पातुभावो, दुक्खस्सेसो उप्पादो, रोगानं ठिति, जरामरणस्स पातुभावो। यो सोतस्स …पे… यो घानस्स … यो जिव्हाय … यो कायस्स … यो मनस्स उप्पादो ठिति अभिनिब्बत्ति पातुभावो, दुक्खस्सेसो उप्पादो, रोगानं ठिति, जरामरणस्स पातुभावो।

    “Yo, bhikkhave, cakkhussa uppādo ṭhiti abhinibbatti pātubhāvo, dukkhasseso uppādo, rogānaṁ ṭhiti, jarāmaraṇassa pātubhāvo. Yo sotassa …pe… yo ghānassa … yo jivhāya … yo kāyassa … yo manassa uppādo ṭhiti abhinibbatti pātubhāvo, dukkhasseso uppādo, rogānaṁ ṭhiti, jarāmaraṇassa pātubhāvo.

    “Bhikkhus, the arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the eye is the arising of suffering, the continuation of diseases, and the manifestation of old age and death. The arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the ear … nose … tongue … body … and mind is the arising of suffering, the continuation of diseases, and the manifestation of old age and death.

    यो च खो, भिक्खवे, चक्खुस्स निरोधो वूपसमो अत्थङ्गमो, दुक्खस्सेसो निरोधो, रोगानं वूपसमो, जरामरणस्स अत्थङ्गमो। यो सोतस्स … यो घानस्स … यो जिव्हाय … यो कायस्स … यो मनस्स निरोधो वूपसमो अत्थङ्गमो, दुक्खस्सेसो निरोधो, रोगानं वूपसमो, जरामरणस्स अत्थङ्गमो”ति।

    The cessation, settling, and ending of the eye is the cessation of suffering, the settling of diseases, and the ending of old age and death. The cessation, settling, and ending of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind is the cessation of suffering, the settling of diseases, and the ending of old age and death.”
