    सावत्थिनिदानं।

    Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

    At Sāvatthī.

    “पथवीधातु, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चा विपरिणामी अञ्ञथाभावी; आपोधातु … तेजोधातु … वायोधातु … आकासधातु … विञ्ञाणधातु अनिच्चा विपरिणामी अञ्ञथाभावी।

    “Pathavīdhātu, bhikkhave, aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī; āpodhātu … tejodhātu … vāyodhātu … ākāsadhātu … viññāṇadhātu aniccā vipariṇāmī aññathābhāvī.

    “Bhikkhus, the earth element is impermanent, decaying, and perishing. The water element, the fire element, the air element, the space element, and the consciousness element are impermanent, decaying, and perishing.

    यो, भिक्खवे, इमे धम्मे एवं सद्दहति अधिमुच्चति, अयं वुच्चति ‘सद्धानुसारी …पे… सम्बोधिपरायनोऽ”ति।

    Yo, bhikkhave, ime dhamme evaṁ saddahati adhimuccati, ayaṁ vuccati ‘saddhānusārī …pe… sambodhiparāyano’”ti.

    Someone who has faith and confidence in these principles is called a follower by faith. …”
