    “सब्बमञ्ञितसमुग्घातसारुप्पं वो, भिक्खवे, पटिपदं देसेस्सामि। तं सुणाथ, साधुकं मनसि करोथ, भासिस्सामीति।

    “Sabbamaññitasamugghātasāruppaṁ vo, bhikkhave, paṭipadaṁ desessāmi. Taṁ suṇātha, sādhukaṁ manasi karotha, bhāsissāmīti.

    “Bhikkhus, I will teach you the practice fit for uprooting all conceiving. Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak. …

    कतमा च सा, भिक्खवे, सब्बमञ्ञितसमुग्घातसारुप्पा पटिपदा?

    Katamā ca sā, bhikkhave, sabbamaññitasamugghātasāruppā paṭipadā?

    And what is the practice fit for uprooting all conceiving?

    इध, भिक्खवे, भिक्खु चक्खुं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुस्मिं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुतो न मञ्ञति, चक्खुं मेति न मञ्ञति। रूपे न मञ्ञति, रूपेसु न मञ्ञति, रूपतो न मञ्ञति, रूपा मेति न मञ्ञति। चक्खुविञ्ञाणं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुविञ्ञाणस्मिं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुविञ्ञाणतो न मञ्ञति, चक्खुविञ्ञाणं मेति न मञ्ञति। चक्खुसम्फस्सं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुसम्फस्सस्मिं न मञ्ञति, चक्खुसम्फस्सतो न मञ्ञति, चक्खुसम्फस्सो मेति न मञ्ञति। यम्पिदं चक्खुसम्फस्सपच्चया उप्पज्जति वेदयितं सुखं वा दुक्खं वा अदुक्खमसुखं वा तम्पि न मञ्ञति, तस्मिम्पि न मञ्ञति, ततोपि न मञ्ञति, तं मेति न मञ्ञति …पे…

    Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhuṁ na maññati, cakkhusmiṁ na maññati, cakkhuto na maññati, cakkhuṁ meti na maññati. Rūpe na maññati, rūpesu na maññati, rūpato na maññati, rūpā meti na maññati. Cakkhuviññāṇaṁ na maññati, cakkhuviññāṇasmiṁ na maññati, cakkhuviññāṇato na maññati, cakkhuviññāṇaṁ meti na maññati. Cakkhusamphassaṁ na maññati, cakkhusamphassasmiṁ na maññati, cakkhusamphassato na maññati, cakkhusamphasso meti na maññati.     It’s when a bhikkhu does not conceive anything to be the eye, does not conceive it in the eye, does not conceive it as the eye, and does not conceive that ‘the eye is mine.’ They don’t conceive anything to be sights, they don’t conceive it in sights, they don’t conceive it as sights, and they don’t conceive that ‘sights are mine.’ They don’t conceive eye consciousness … eye contact … They don’t conceive anything to be the pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by eye contact. They don’t conceive it in that, they don’t conceive it as that, and they don’t conceive that ‘that is mine.’

    jivhaṁ na maññati, jivhāya na maññati, jivhāto na maññati, jivhā meti na maññati. Rase na maññati, rasesu na maññati, rasato na maññati, rasā meti na maññati. Jivhāviññāṇaṁ na maññati, jivhāviññāṇasmiṁ na maññati, jivhāviññāṇato na maññati, jivhāviññāṇaṁ meti na maññati. Jivhāsamphassaṁ na maññati, jivhāsamphassasmiṁ na maññati, jivhāsamphassato na maññati, jivhāsamphasso meti na maññati. Manosamphassaṁ na maññati, manosamphassasmiṁ na maññati, manosamphassato na maññati, manosamphasso meti na maññati. Yampidaṁ manosamphassapaccayā uppajjati vedayitaṁ sukhaṁ vā dukkhaṁ vā adukkhamasukhaṁ vā tampi na maññati, tasmimpi na maññati, tatopi na maññati, taṁ meti na maññati.

    They don’t conceive anything to be the ear … nose … tongue … body … mind … They don’t conceive anything to be the pleasant, painful, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by mind contact. They don’t conceive it in that, they don’t conceive it as that, and they don’t conceive that ‘that is mine.’

    सब्बं न मञ्ञति, सब्बस्मिं न मञ्ञति, सब्बतो न मञ्ञति, सब्बं मेति न मञ्ञति। सो एवं अमञ्ञमानो न च किञ्चि लोके उपादियति। अनुपादियं न परितस्सति। अपरितस्सं पच्चत्तञ्ञेव परिनिब्बायति।

    Sabbaṁ na maññati, sabbasmiṁ na maññati, sabbato na maññati, sabbaṁ meti na maññati. So evaṁ amaññamāno na ca kiñci loke upādiyati. Anupādiyaṁ na paritassati. Aparitassaṁ paccattaññeva parinibbāyati.

    They don’t conceive anything to be all, they don’t conceive it in all, they don’t conceive it as all, and they don’t conceive that ‘all is mine.’ Not conceiving, they don’t grasp at anything in the world. Not grasping, they’re not anxious. Not being anxious, they personally become extinguished.

    ‘खीणा जाति, वुसितं ब्रह्मचरियं, कतं करणीयं, नापरं इत्थत्तायाऽति पजानाति।

    ‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṁ brahmacariyaṁ, kataṁ karaṇīyaṁ, nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānāti.

    They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is no return to any state of existence.’

    अयं खो सा, भिक्खवे, सब्बमञ्ञितसमुग्घातसारुप्पा पटिपदा”ति।

    Ayaṁ kho sā, bhikkhave, sabbamaññitasamugghātasāruppā paṭipadā”ti.

    This is the practice fit for uprooting all conceiving.”
