सावत्थिनिदानं।
Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
At Sāvatthī.
“चतस्सो इमा, भिक्खवे, सुपण्णयोनियो। कतमा चतस्सो? अण्डजा सुपण्णा, जलाबुजा सुपण्णा, संसेदजा सुपण्णा, ओपपातिका सुपण्णा—इमा खो, भिक्खवे, चतस्सो सुपण्णयोनियो”ति।
“Catasso imā, bhikkhave, supaṇṇayoniyo. Katamā catasso? Aṇḍajā supaṇṇā, jalābujā supaṇṇā, saṁsedajā supaṇṇā, opapātikā supaṇṇā—imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso supaṇṇayoniyo”ti.
“Bhikkhus, phoenixes reproduce in these four ways. What four? Phoenixes are born from eggs, from a womb, from moisture, or spontaneously. These are the four ways that phoenixes reproduce.”
