Things Prone To Being Grasped
सावत्थिनिदानं।
Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

“उपादानिये च, भिक्खवे, धम्मे देसेस्सामि उपादानञ्च। तं सुणाथ।
“Upādāniye ca, bhikkhave, dhamme desessāmi upādānañca. Taṁ suṇātha.

कतमे च, भिक्खवे, उपादानिया धम्मा, कतमं उपादानं?
Katame ca, bhikkhave, upādāniyā dhammā, katamaṁ upādānaṁ?
What are the things that are prone to being grasped? And what is the grasping?
रूपं, भिक्खवे, उपादानियो धम्मो, यो तत्थ छन्दरागो, तं तत्थ उपादानं।
Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, upādāniyo dhammo, yo tattha chandarāgo, taṁ tattha upādānaṁ.
Form is something that’s prone to being grasped. The desire and greed for it is the grasping.

Ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, upādāniyā dhammā, idaṁ upādānan”ti.
These are called the things that are prone to being grasped, and this is the grasping.”
