Arising
सावत्थियं विहरति।
Sāvatthiyaṁ viharati.

“यो, भिक्खवे, पथवीधातुया उप्पादो ठिति अभिनिब्बत्ति पातुभावो, दुक्खस्सेसो उप्पादो रोगानं ठिति जरामरणस्स पातुभावो। यो आपोधातुया …पे… यो तेजोधातुया … यो वायोधातुया उप्पादो ठिति अभिनिब्बत्ति पातुभावो, दुक्खस्सेसो उप्पादो रोगानं ठिति जरामरणस्स पातुभावो।
“Yo, bhikkhave, pathavīdhātuyā uppādo ṭhiti abhinibbatti pātubhāvo, dukkhasseso uppādo rogānaṁ ṭhiti jarāmaraṇassa pātubhāvo. Yo āpodhātuyā …pe… yo tejodhātuyā … yo vāyodhātuyā uppādo ṭhiti abhinibbatti pātubhāvo, dukkhasseso uppādo rogānaṁ ṭhiti jarāmaraṇassa pātubhāvo.
“Bhikkhus, the arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the earth element is the arising of suffering, the continuation of diseases, and the manifestation of old age and death. The arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the water element … The arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the fire element … The arising, continuation, rebirth, and manifestation of the air element is the arising of suffering, the continuation of diseases, and the manifestation of old age and death.
यो च खो, भिक्खवे, पथवीधातुया निरोधो वूपसमो अत्थङ्गमो, दुक्खस्सेसो निरोधो रोगानं वूपसमो जरामरणस्स अत्थङ्गमो। यो आपोधातुया …पे… यो तेजोधातुया … यो वायोधातुया निरोधो वूपसमो अत्थङ्गमो, दुक्खस्सेसो निरोधो रोगानं वूपसमो जरामरणस्स अत्थङ्गमो”ति।
