Yadaniccasutta
That Which is Impermanent
सावत्थिनिदानं।
Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
At Sāvatthī.
“रूपं, भिक्खवे, अनिच्चं। यदनिच्चं तं दुक्खं; यं दुक्खं तदनत्ता; यदनत्ता तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं।
“Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ. Yadaniccaṁ taṁ dukkhaṁ; yaṁ dukkhaṁ tadanattā; yadanattā taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ.
“Bhikkhus, form is impermanent. What’s impermanent is suffering. What’s suffering is not-self. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
वेदना अनिच्चा। यदनिच्चं तं दुक्खं; यं दुक्खं तदनत्ता; यदनत्ता तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं।

विञ्ञाणं अनिच्चं। यदनिच्चं तं दुक्खं; यं दुक्खं तदनत्ता; यदनत्ता तं ‘नेतं मम, नेसोहमस्मि, न मेसो अत्ताऽति एवमेतं यथाभूतं सम्मप्पञ्ञाय दट्ठब्बं।
viññāṇaṁ aniccaṁ. Yadaniccaṁ taṁ dukkhaṁ; yaṁ dukkhaṁ tadanattā; yadanattā taṁ ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ.
Consciousness is impermanent. What’s impermanent is suffering. What’s suffering is not-self. And what’s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’
एवं पस्सं …पे… नापरं इत्थत्तायाऽति पजानाती”ति।
Evaṁ passaṁ …pe… nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānātī”ti.
Seeing this … They understand: ‘… there is no return to any state of existence.’”
