AMACR wt Allele
Human AMACR wild-type allele is located within 5p13.2-q11.1 and is approximately 21 kb in length. This allele, which encodes alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase protein, is involved in the racemization of 2-methyl-branched fatty acid CoA esters. Certain allelic variants of the AMACR gene are associated with cancer risk. (NCI Thesaurus)
