Benign vascular tumor

Pronunciation

A type of benign (not cancer) tumor that forms from cells that make blood vessels or lymph vessels. Benign vascular tumors may occur anywhere in the body, and a patient may have several tumors in different parts of the body. They may grow large and sometimes spread to nearby tissue. The most common type of benign vascular tumor is hemangioma, which usually occurs in infants and goes away on its own. (NCI Dictionary)
