Desulfovibrio piger
Definition 1
A species of anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacterium assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, non-hemolytic and cannot reduce sulfate in the presence of acetate alone. D. piger has mostly been isolated from human clinical specimens and may be associated with inflammatory bowel disease. (NCI Thesaurus)
