Eubacterium nodatum
Definition 1
A genus of aerobic, Gram-positive, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This species is nonmotile, non-spore forming, indole negative, reduces neutral red, and produces butyrate, but does not hydrolyze esculin or starch, digest gelatin, reduce nitrate, ferment carbohydrates, or produce hydrogen sulfide. E. nodatum was isolated from subgingival and supragingival samples in individuals with periodontal infections. (NCI Thesaurus)
