    Kingella kingae

    Definition 1

    A species of aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, oxidase positive, catalase negative, beta hemolytic, and ferments maltose. K. kingae is part of the upper respiratory commensal flora but may become pathogenic in immunocompromised individuals. (NCI Thesaurus)
