Lincomycin
A lincosamide antibiotic derived from bacteria Streptomyces lincolnensis with activity against gram positive and anaerobic bacteria. Lincomycin binds to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome resulting in the inhibition of protein synthesis and thereby produces bactericidal effects in susceptible organisms. (NCI Thesaurus)
