    NMT2 wt Allele

Human NMT2 wild-type allele is located within 10p13 and is approximately 61 kb in length. This allele, which encodes glycylpeptide N-tetradecanoyltransferase 2 protein, plays a role in the N-terminal myristoylation of many signaling proteins. The NMT gene is overexpressed in several types of cancer including brain, colorectal and gall bladder tumors. (NCI Thesaurus)
