    Plasmacytoid Monocyte

    A cell found in peripheral blood, lymphoid tissue, and some inflamed tissue. It produces vast amounts of type I interferons especially in response to viruses, therefore playing an important role in antiviral immunity and triggers for adaptive immune responses. (NCI Thesaurus)
