Recombinant Fowlpox-GM-CSF
A vaccine adjuvant comprised of a recombinant fowlpox virus vector encoding the protein cytokine GM-CSF. GM-CSF is a protein cytokine secreted by T cells and macrophages, following cell activation by antigens or mitogens, and is indispensable for the growth and development of granulocyte and macrophage progenitor cells. Fowlpox virus is an attractive vaccine vector because its genome is easy to manipulate and it does not multiply in human tissues. (NCI Thesaurus)
