    Good

    “साधुञ्च वो, भिक्खवे, देसेस्सामि असाधुञ्च। तं सुणाथ, साधुकं मनसि करोथ, भासिस्सामी”ति।

    “Sādhuñca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi asādhuñca. Taṁ suṇātha, sādhukaṁ manasi karotha, bhāsissāmī”ti.

    “Bhikkhus, I will teach you what is good and what is not good. Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak.”

    “एवं, भन्ते”ति खो ते भिक्खू भगवतो पच्चस्सोसुं। भगवा एतदवोच:

    “Evaṁ, bhante”ti kho te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṁ. Bhagavā etadavoca:

    “Yes, sir,” they replied. The Buddha said this:

    “कतमञ्च, भिक्खवे, असाधु? मिच्छादिट्ठि, मिच्छासङ्कप्पो, मिच्छावाचा, मिच्छाकम्मन्तो, मिच्छाआजीवो, मिच्छावायामो, मिच्छासति, मिच्छासमाधि, मिच्छाञाणं, मिच्छाविमुत्ति—इदं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, असाधु। कतमञ्च, भिक्खवे, साधु? सम्मादिट्ठि, सम्मासङ्कप्पो, सम्मावाचा सम्माकम्मन्तो, सम्माआजीवो, सम्मावायामो, सम्मासति, सम्मासमाधि, सम्माञाणं, सम्माविमुत्ति—इदं वुच्चति, भिक्खवे, साधू”ति।

    “Katamañca, bhikkhave, asādhu? Micchādiṭṭhi, micchāsaṅkappo, micchāvācā, micchākammanto, micchāājīvo, micchāvāyāmo, micchāsati, micchāsamādhi, micchāñāṇaṁ, micchāvimutti—idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, asādhu. Katamañca, bhikkhave, sādhu? Sammādiṭṭhi, sammāsaṅkappo, sammāvācā sammākammanto, sammāājīvo, sammāvāyāmo, sammāsati, sammāsamādhi, sammāñāṇaṁ, sammāvimutti—idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sādhū”ti.

    “And what, bhikkhus, is not good? Wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. This is called what is not good. And what is good? Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right immersion, right knowledge, and right freedom. This is called what is good.”

    पठमं।
